Live at Orion
MoonJune Records
2015
If you check Grande Rock from time to time then you’ll surely come across some very artistic, technical and “odd” bands from MoonJune records. I presented simakDialog’s previous studio album “The 6th Story” in 2013. Now after the 2013 tour, this Indonesian band decided to release its first live album.
“Live at Orion” features various tracks from the band’s back-catalogue. Still the final outcome is an amalgam of jazz, fusion, ethnic, avant-garde, prog rock, jazz-rock, Gamelan (traditional music from Indonesia with xylophones, kendang, gongs etc.), atmospheric & psychedelic music. I bet it’s way better to experience such live shows rather than just listening to them but either way you cannot go wrong with such gifted musicians, especially if you are into this kind of music.
If you haven’t heard of the band before this live (compilation) album will give you a nice hint of what these Indonesian guys are all about… so, afterwards, you can try to find their studio works too to have a more complete opinion of their music…
