The truth is that it’s getting hotter and hotter here every day. It’s hard not to think of beaches, seas and easy-relaxing time. If you can also combine that beach time with a cold (as ice) beer & good rockin’ music then… I’m sure that no one can resist that offer.Back to Grande Rock now… we turned your 5-star rating system to 10-star… to make it quite relative to our rating system as well. Every rating has an explanation so as to give you a hint for what every rate is about. For example, some people think that a 7 out of 10 is a so-and-so rating… in our book, an album that is being rated with a 7 means that’s a “very good” album. Every star rating and explanation represents Grande Rock’s philosophy about the ratings totally. It’s unacceptable to see other sites rating 90% of the new releases with 8 (4 out of 5) or 9 (mostly 5 out of 5). A review must be informative, must have certain info for the band, the members the recordings and must give people a hint of what’s all about.
Here on Grande Rock, we do not promote public relations with our album reviews neither with our interviews. We are utterly independent and we entirely choose what releases should be put into the “Gems” or “Best of Month” categories and which bands we’d like to interview. Some are saying that we’re harsh when it comes to ratings… but that’s a way to protect the fans/buyers and encourage the bands to try to evolve and better with each new album… we don’t do it just for the sake of it. Unfortunately, we do not live in a 4 out of 5 stars world as most of the webzines out there… ‘cuz simply, there’s no such a world… it’s just a made up way so as to have good relationships with the all the labels/bands and get some ads whenever you can. Those who are cooperating with us, respect and like the equal way we treat everyone… from the biggest label or bands to the smallest ones… they all deserve equal chances and on Grande Rock… they’re gonna get ‘em…
It’s more likely to add some new categories on Grande Rock in the next time period. A different link section under the name of Vision Arts (or something like that) which will contain three categories with Movies, Video Games & Books relative to rock/metal music… or having a rock/metal general feeling. We will suggest some Movies, Video Games & Books we like and think are good to share with you… but you can also propose the things you fancy as well… after all, we encourage you to participate actively as part of Grande Rock…
PS: We thank everyone for your preference on Grande Rock all this time period… we’re growing stronger every single month …
PS2: We’d like to welcome… an old known guy & partner on board… James a.k.a Rockavlon… for contributing to Grande Rock with his “strange” writing style and for being a true metalhead that totally lives for rock/metal music…
PS3: This editorial is dedicated to our beloved drummer Scott Columbus (R.I.P.)… who was the drummer of the legendary band... that we all love and respect… the Kings of Epic Metal… Manowar!
