Grande Rock - The Best of 2013

We welcome 2014 with our best wishes and thoughts. 2013 is already in the history books and, in truth to be told, it wasn’t so much of a great rock/metal year, at least in my book. We always have high hopes & expectations every New Year so raising the bar higher than in the past should always be in everyone’s agenda. Here, on Grande Rock, we have lots of “new” things to do and present. After all, I know judging from your response that you truly loved our idea to offer signed and/or special edition CDs.

Hence, the time of the year to present/publish Grande Rock’s Best Albums & Songs for 2013 has come. This year (2013) the GR team reviewed almost 450 albums! We’re glad to have several new guys & gals in our team for 2014.

The big time has come… the Best Album for 2013 according to Grande Rock is: “Psykerion” by Thought Chamber! So congrats to Thought Chamber for delivering such a mind-blowing music album! Of course, kudos to the other 29 bands which released some truly astonishing albums in 2013.

The complete list with the top 30 albums, the 30 best songs & and the worst 30 albums of 2013 is below. Also we’ve added a new category under the title: “The Top Clone Band”. I think in our time clone bands have become too many to handle so we “must” somehow “honor” them!

PS: Enjoy and keep in pace with Grande Rock. In a couple of weeks, the Reader’s Poll results will be announced as well! Along with the results, the names of the three (3) lucky winners of the GR Poll will be published too. Respect the Rock!!!

PS2: Just before the end of 2013, a weird incident occurred. After some random person (who obviously had something to do with some band) had done a “Google translation” on a review, he decided that he didn’t like what he read in the “Google translation” text. So, he somehow “threatened” to take legal action against Grande Rock due to a “tablecloth”! So, what does the “tablecloth” have to do with the actual review?! Well nothing at all! The “Google translation” showed so and he believed that in a way we insulted the band… by mixing it with “tablecloths”! Crazy stories by crazy people! What can we say!? In 12 years of existence, this is the first time that Grande Rock has dealt with such a “bizarre thing”. I won’t go any further cuz’ the guy from the band’s label said that he would take care of that thing. Let’s hope that it will end here…

PS3: This month’s editorial is dedicated to the inimitable rocker Phillip Parris Lynott. On January 4th was the 28th anniversary from the day he left us in order to join the Big Heavens Band. Phil your music & lifestyle will never fade away! R.I.P.
