Sick Gazelle to release debut album “Odum” on May 3rd 2019

The idea of musicians wondering into a studio, plugging in, jamming and pressing “record” is something that is often romanticized in the music industry, yet hardly ever happens, well, at least not with any positive results. The band, Sick Gazelle, is the outlier in this case, having done just that on their debut album, “Odum”.

Line-up:

Wingfield Reuter Sirkis - Lighthouse

When I first saw the names of this release I instantly thought of “The Stone House” album which was released early in February 2017; this time one musician, the bassist Stavi, is missing and the four have become a trio. As the press release says, “The Stone House” was released first but was actually recorded second during a marathon six-day 2016 series of sessions that will ultimately yield more than the three albums initially planned.

Ex Eye to release self-titled debut album on June 23rd 2017

Colin Stetson-led experimental supergroup Ex Eye is poised to make their formal debut with their forthcoming self-titled album, due out on June 23rd, 2017, via Relapse Records.

The LP’s first single, “Opposition/Perihelion” harnesses the precise, clockwork intricacies and ecstatic abandon that have quickly become the quartet’s calling cards. Listen to it now below.

Wingfield Reuter Stavi Sirkis - The Stone House

This music project came to life when guitarists Mark Wingfield (Jane Chapman; solo artist, etc.) and Markus Reuter (Stick Men, The Crimson ProjeKct, Centrozoon) decide to record together. Along came the bassist Yaron Stavi (David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Robert Wyatt, Richard Galliano) and drummer Asaf Sirkis (Tim Garland, Mark Wingfield, Nicolas Meier). I guess judging by the musicians one cannot expect something less than impressive when it comes to performances & music.
