When I first saw the name Twintera… I can’t tell why but Pantera entered my head right away. Do not worry though cuz’ Twintera ain’t a Pantera copycat at all. This Italian band was formed back in 2005 and in 2009 their released their first EP “Demotion”. As soon as they signed a deal with Logic(il)Logic records, they began writing and recording what was meant to be their debut full-length release.

Taking their inspirations from the late 80s & mostly the 90s heavy metal era & bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Evegrey among others, they have also embellished their music with a few hard rock 80s features from Motley Crue, Skid Row and the rest. While the Metallica 90s style suits them better and their powerful songs with heavy riffs are somewhat better in here, they do try out different things but I think it’s a matter of time to balance their influences and find the sound that works out better for them. The production is good even though it is sorta sharp. I would prefer the sound of the guitars to be heavier & fatter.

Tom S. Englund (vocals/guitars) from Evergrey is participating in the song “Oversight”. The specific tune has an Evergrey vibe all over it. Oppositely, the cover on Survivor’s “Burning Heart” is not working well at all & in my opinion they should have avoided having included it in the album. Thankfully, the fine tune “Waves” comes right after to fix that drawback. Anyhow, Twintera can fairly do better and I’m sure that their next release will be more consistent & improved in every aspect.
