Spiritz - Perfect Sides

Spiritz is a band that has chosen to release their debut album, which they claim to have had Roy Z, work on as a producer, on their own. They are Ukrainian, and fairly good, all in all in what they do which is some anthemic modern rock with a soft punk edge, the sort of shouty rock, that could easily get a whole room jumping up and down for no apparent reason. Their vocalist Bobby Black, actually carries most of the bands weight with his energetic performances and sometimes guitarist Alex Serkin, comes in with the occasional solo, which sometimes feels fine and sometimes just a bit out of place.

Songs like the energetic “Freedom Zone”, the more “experimental” and multi-faceted “You in Me”, that however becomes a little too angst-rock, for my particular tastes, “Insane”, which surprisingly is not exploding – sounding more like a ballad for the most part, and the oddball tracks “Little Dead People” and “Stop the Rain” that have weird all over the keys, vocals, that however feel fitting are not too bad. Fair band at what they do, with a well-produced, debut that could actually find some fame and fortune in the not so distant future.
