Soul Seller - Matter of Faith

Soulseller did release an album a few years ago, but this year they returned with a largely different lineup that has somewhat changed their overall character. Half the band is renewed with Eric Concas assuming leading vocals, Italo Graziana on drums and Simone Morandotti on piano and keyboards, which allows them a lot more things on the musical level, with their melodic rock becoming a bit more inspired, complicated and ambitious overall. Concas, that I’m pretty sure I’ve heard before someplace, is a bit more evocative in his deliveries that sound like a grungier and more pop sensitive Cherone or something like that.

In reality, while the songs are quite nice and the album solid, the overall changes might put some people off and this change of identity is done too abruptly. I guess, I enjoyed the album quite a bit but after the first few and funkier songs, the whole momentum is largely lost and the album drags a bit.
Still, if you don’t mind a pop minded, contemporary melodic rock sound, you might want to check them out.
