Ray Vaughn
Wounded Bird
Rayoso Music
2016
Almost three years after the release of his first solo album “Way Down Low”, Ray is back with his second release under the title “Wounded Bird”. He still has his longtime friend and guitarist from the Hostages Ed Rawlings and the producer Michael Rosen (Tesla, Rancid, Papa Roach etc) by his side. The new participants in the album are: James DePrato (Chuck Prophet) on electric, slide & acoustic guitars, baritone guitar, dobro and mandolin, Kevin T White (Chuck Prophet) on bass and Prairie Prince (The Tubes, Todd Rundgren) on drums.
In the music part, Ray blends his favorite styles all together and plays a kind of music which is destined to be played live from the heart. So pop/rock, classic rock, acoustic rock, art-rock, country-rock, alternative rock & americana are all blended together on “Wounded Bird”. The production is “organic” and has a “live feeling”; then again, it’s hard to go wrong on that part with Rosen in charge.
If you fancy your music more laid back, with nice guitars and performances plus a livelier feeling overall, then you should try out “Wounded Bird”. Ray is a frank & sincere musician that offers music straight from the heart and that’s something that’s hard to find in the music business these days…
