It’s funny how a band like Prowler, who have only existed, for some four years, releasing EPs, consider themselves as the next best thing since early Metallica and Annihilator, whose records, according to them or their “press guy” – even the classic ones “don’t quite hit the spot”??!! Seriously, because some of the classics, always hit the spot, you know 60% of the time – they work every time, just like Sex Panter.
They go on to compare themselves with more people and make a big deal about having the album overseen by Roger Lian, the same man that was responsible for Slayer’s “South of Heaven” and countless others including Overkill, Pantera and Damageplan. Sure enough the album sounds good, if not a bit too dry, but the band themselves are a bad copy of Metallica and Testament, like hundred others, that tried and failed. And comparing their album to “Ride the Lightning” is just a joke. If it’s them making all those boasts, I’d suggest they pour a bucket of cold water over their heads, too cool em off, otherwise they should fire the guy who writes these press releases, yesterday.
Their decent enough thrash, wasn’t too bad, but neither too good (even though I found the movie sound clips inclusion on a number of songs tiresome) but all these wild claims, made me have great expectations that the band cannot fulfil.
