Profane And The Sacred
Chapter 1: A Long Time Coming

What to write about Profane And The Sacred’s album “Chapter 1: A Long Time Coming”? And how to put it politely? They sound too eager for their own benefit.
I mean their songs have a lot of pretty tight and pretty awesome parts (like cool/powerful guitar riffs and/or interesting rhythm changes), but on the other hand, there’s just too many of them in every damn track. All nine songs vary between 5 and 8 mins of running time. Personally, I found them all a little too much to handle. You know what the problem is? When there are so many changes in one single track, you run the risk of at least one of those changes to be… let’s say… less successful, in that case, this shift ruins the whole track. For example, I quite enjoyed the guitar work featured in the middle of “You Know” (7:24 min btw), but then there were about 1,5 min when I just wanted the song to end.
Profane And The Sacred clearly show potential, but they need to chill a bit and not overload every track.
