2016
Postures is a Swedish quintet and “Halucinda” is their sophomore release. They play a tight, rhythmical blend of psychedelic pop with progressive rock undertones with all those terms being used rather loosely, I suppose to my ears sounds like a mix between Anneke’s earlier self-mixed with some Nina Persson from the Cardigans, over musical soundscapes that really ever-changing…
Songs vary from kinda psych power pop ie the title track, manic prog exercises like “Myriad Man”, softer stuff like “Every Room” and “A Million Sequences”. “Wavemaker” falls back into psych, but its shouty parts didn’t appeal much to me. Unlike the alluring melodies of “Hexa Luna” create a bewitching atmosphere. Last but no least, “In the Dark” again has this Anneke sort of vibe, more like solo Anneke however, which I guess is some sort of compliment.
They can certainly take what they have a long way and they should. Interesting enough band and album that shows quite a bit of potential.
