Mystic Prophecy
Never Ending
Nuclear Blast
2004
Act three... the concept is finally over (?)... the monk returned to kill everyone that tortured him when he was alive. “Never Ending” is the title of Mystic Prophecy’s new album and finally the concept idea that started when the band’s first album was released (“Vengeance”), has come to an end (?)... who knows... maybe the monk will return again someday.
The band is back after almost a year from “Regressus” and ready to offer us qualitative and fresh heavy/power music. I totally believe that Mystic Prophecy is one of those heavy/power bands that manage to have its own musical identity. Responsible for this achievement are R.D. Liapakis and Gus G., Lia’s powerful voice along with Gus’s excellent riffs and solos which have become the band’s trademark.
Now, coming to “Never Ending”, I must say that the album once again has a flawless and very heavy production (Lia is getting better and better as a producer) and it will satisfy any heavy/power fan out there. Songs like: “Burning Bridges” (a video clip has also been shot for this song), “Time Will Tell”, “Dust of Evil”, “Never Surrender” (my personal favourite from the album), “When I’m Falling”, “Warriors of Lies” (an excellent dark-esoteric song) & “Dead Moon Rising”, will make you understand at once why heavy/power metal music can be traditional and fresh at the same time. I only hope and wish that this album will be the band’s lucky one and finally bring the attention and respect they deserve. Mystic Prophecy is a metal force that is on its way to the top and nobody can stop them except for themselves!
