The debut album by Milan based hard/alternative rock band Knowing2Fly is out and, having listened to it, I don’t see why anyone should care. It’s funny to me that the press release noted that “Knowing2fly is not your average band”, when that’s exactly what they are, an average band.

A totally mediocre hard rock album that has absolutely nothing new to offer to the genre. I’ve always liked alternative rock quite a bit and, even though I have listened to this record twice, I can’t say that I enjoyed or can recall any of the tracks. Each and every song in “Here on My Feet” lacks inspiration and originality. I'm talking about absolute mediocrity. Overused guitar riffs, highly predictable musical compositions and an overall generic vibe are the components of this record. As for the lyrics, most of the songs deal with what a tough rock‘n’roll dude the singer is. The truth is though that when it comes to the vocals, what the guy is saying is not the problem. It’s bad enough that the singer could only be described as an amateur (at best), but what’s even worse is that he sings with the thickest Italian sounding accent. My Lord, that atrocious accent is unbearable. I mean the dude could play the villain in a 70s Bond film.

I really hate not being able to say anything positive about an album, but there’s really nothing good about a totally mediocre album. I truly believe that it’s better to be bad than mediocre. I can recall a lot of bands because of how bad I thought they were, but not one because they were mediocre.
