Juggernaut (you’ll find several bands by that name) is an Italian band which was formed in 2006. After a demo release in the same year of their formation, they managed to release their debut album, “...Where Mountains Walk” in 2009. Now almost 5 years later, they’re back with their sophomore album “Trama!”
Juggernaut, nowadays, is a “weird” instrumental band which blends atmospheric, cinematic, post-hardcore, post-metal & sludge music together. Add various experimental and progressive passages to that and you can have an idea about their music style. The album cover can also give you a good idea of what’s going on in their minds too. Their atmospheric, smooth moments are quite compelling and they do blend nicely with the heavier ones. The production is very good & clear. The album was recorded and mixed by Valerio Fisik (from Inferno Sci-Fi Grind‘n’Roll) and mastered by Riccardo Pasini.
Sure, there’s a change in the band’s style and music attitude since there are no extreme vocals and other elements in their music anymore and they have taken a more refined, instrumental and experimental way. Assuredly, their “old fans” will be surprised, as they’ll think that Juggernaut is a totally new band, but what’s life & music without changes huh? I think this new style fits them better as a band…
