Everybody Wants a Piece

Joe Louis Walker is a bluesman that has been going on since 1986, when he released his debut album “Cold is the Night”. Now 30 years later, JLW returns with his 25th studio album “Everybody Wants a Piece”, which was produced by the renowned guitarist Paul Nelson (Pual Nelson band, Johnny Winter) at his Chop Shop studio in Philadelphia. Nelson also plays guitar in two tracks.
“Everybody Wants a Piece” is in the same pace with the previous works of JLW. Do not ask for anything new here but just for the same good ol’ thing that JLW has delivered throughout his career. He even throws some gospel blues into the mix like he used to do along with his usual blues-rock, funky, R&B and rock & roll stuff.
There’s not much to say about this album. Even though I’m not a fan of the “usual” covers all the bluesmen use in their albums, I must admit that JLW has done it in style here. If you fancy this kind of music then give this album a spin and you won’t regret it.
