Some say that a 5-year gap between the releases of albums is too much. I say that it doesn’t matter how soon or not a band releases an album… as long as this album is good from start to finish. That goes for the Italian (who sound rather US/UK) rockers who released their new third album 5 years after “One Ticket to Paradise”.

Were I to describe this album with a couple of words, I’d call it updated in every part. It seems that their tour with notable acts such as House of Lords, Mitch Malloy, Bobby Kymball, Vinny Appice, Issa, Kelly Keeling and so forth helped the band a lot in general. At times, Hungryheart bring the late 90s & early 00s moments of Harem Scarem on my mind.

The album was produced by guitarist Mario Percudani (Mitch Malloy, Ted Poley, Axe, Lionville), recorded and mixed by Mario himself & Daniele Mandelli at Tanzan Music Studio (Italy) and mastered by senior engineer Brad Vance (Foreigner, Mr.Big, Ritchie Blackmore) at Red Mastering Studio (California, USA). The production is rockin’ and kinda reminiscent of the late 90s/early 00s hard rock/melodic rock & AOR releases. Very good indeed. The album also features guest appearances by Paolo Apollo Negri & Alessandro Del Vecchio on keyboards and Giulio Garghentini on backing vocals on “Time for the Letting Go”.

“Dirty Italian Job” is the band’s most mature and strongest work to date. In truth to be told, Hungryheart are among the most qualitative melodic rock, hard rock, AOR acts of today. Unfortunately, the specific genre has taken the downhill in the last few years but there are some bands that refuse to let it go, now that the “big names” of the scene are fooling around – only God knows why and for how long. There are several tracks of all kinds on “Dirty Italian Job” to satisfy the fans of the genre so do not hesitate to give it a chance… it is worthy of both your time and your money.
