Hinder
When the Smoke Clears
The End Records
2015
Hinder is another “fancy” modern rock act which has gained more fame & money than they ever deserved. Their new album is released by their new label The End Records (what happened to this label which used to release extreme metal works?!) and it is the band’s first album with the new singer Marshal Dutton after the departure of their original singer Austin Winkler in 2013.
The band teamed up with Pledge Music to support the release of “When the Smoke Clears”. Like all the bands who think about their fans more than ever these days, they started stating how important their fans are and their help means the world to them blah blabh blah. All those bands, when they were under the “safe umbrella” of the “golden” multinational music labels, didn’t give a shit about their fans but only cared about money (as they also do nowadays but a bit more daintily). Anyhow, that’s another part of the story. The production is also very good & modern too and it has been delivered by the drummer Cody and the new singer Marshal.
Musically, the album is just Hinder. Meaningless, plastic modern pop-rock tracks with giggly melodies meant for the “airwaves” – which are full of shitty music these days more than ever. I wonder how all these bands manage to “write songs” which sound all the same! That requires talent indeed! Anyway, “When the Smoke Clears” has got nothing to care about… even their “old loyal” fans won’t be satisfied by this tasteless and tedious album…
