Among other things, The Haunted “remembered” their old-good-self and after the appropriate “gay-drama” on the web and the incredible musical downhill they have taken in the last decade… they’re merely back to their roots.

Not that “Exit Wounds” is a great album or anything but if you compare it to the turds they previously released then it leaves a good state for the band’s future. Personally, I think that The Haunted has lost the train. There’s nothing there from them anymore. They made a great impression on people with their debut back in 1998 and the next couple of works were pretty decent but after that they proved that they couldn’t manage the “amount of success” they had back then.

“Exit Wounds” has the known heavy-thrash elements it should have, the apt brutality and the strong production but it’s so damn plain, overdone and cliché that it tends to become tiresome and dull after a while. The old band followers will enjoy it more than anyone. Apart from that there’s nothing really noteworthy to deal with any further…
