These Swedes have really made people, specifically the younger ones, want to have a look at rock music that was delivered in the 70s. Having both the talent and a major label to support them in every move, they have become quite popular even though this is only their third studio work.

Well, to be honest, there are two categories of bands which are influenced by the 70s rock music… the first one is some bands that have actually been inspired by that era and want to deliver something personal & stirred and the second is most of the bands out there which are repeatedly “stealing” those 70s bands just to make a living out of it. Thankfully, Graveyard are on the first category. They adopted that 70s classic rock, psychedelic, bluesy sound and worked on it till they could present something good and motivated.

You won’t find any significant variations from album to album, although I think that the new one has a bit late 60s rock elements as well. Of course, their albums are very tasteful in general without becoming repetitive in any part. “Lights Out” is completely baptized into the “holy” 70s rock waters. The guys may have found a recipe that works out so far but I’m wondering what’s next for them cuz’ obviously they can go on making albums that are rather alike forever. Not even Sabbath managed to do that for a long time-period.
