Güru - Güru

That’s the good thing with internet sometimes… you can, by accident, get to know some new bands that do not have that big promotion-distribution part of the big labels behind them… but they know how to deliver good music… That’s the case with Güru here. This is a band from Spain which consists of five people that are experienced musicians and have played/toured with several bands in the past. Especially, the guitar player David Palau seems to have a very good background as a session musician in the past years. The band is playing 80s - early 90s melodic rock music with some hard rock influences and some jazzy (few and far between) elements. The mastermind of the band, the guitarist/vocalist David has done a great job on the album’s production (the album has been recorded in his personal studio) and delivered a very polished and fresh sound. His guitar playing is fantastic… generally, the musicianship is very good… every single musician here is responsible for this tasteful album.

If I can tell some bands that came on my mind while listening to this album… then I would probably say: Mr. Big, Survivor, Toto, Foreigner, Journey, Styx… and the lists goes on… Try to find and listen to this album and especially: “Sometimes” (a great mid-tempo melodic rocker), “Staring At Your Door” (a sensitive melodic ballad), “Addictive Love” (nice intro and beautiful song), the touching slow-tempo “I Found My Way”… try somehow and find this album and you will not regret it… do not overlook them… this album is recommended to all the 80s/early90s melodic rock fans… Güru delivers good melodic rock music…
