“Am I Walking Wrong?” is the debut album by the Serbian guitarist Dusan Jevtovic. Along with Bernat Hernandez on fretless bass guitar & Marko Djordjevic on drums, they have crafted a power trio in order to experiment & play music with no boundaries in general.
The rockin’ sound is immensely blended with jazz rock, fusion, progressive & metal music… so as to create an entirely instrumental, complex but also listenable outcome. The production has been done by Dusan himself and the album has a kinda “rock personality” in comparison to other releases by the same label. Surely, we have to do with three great musicians who experiment, improvise and have fun playing music all together.
Then again, the abstract harmonies, the free style jam/improvisation and the instrumental tracks are not meant to attract every listener but the musicians mostly. Were there more melodies and specific music themes, this album would appeal to a wider audience. I guess that ain’t recognition what skilled musicians such as these are looking for, so we gotta go with the flow. “Am I Walking Wrong?” is for those who play music and see/feel the whole music idea a bit different from the average listener/follower.
