Dunderbeist - Hyklere

Dunderbeist (roughly translates to Noisy Beast) are a Norwegian sextet, comprised by former members of Krace, KITE and Stonegard. They perform a rock‘n’metal hybrid with twists and turns and have released some six releases in the past, one of them being an EP, making this their sixth full album in only barely seven years. They might appeal to fans of Mastodon, Converge, Kvelertak, that sort of bearded, generic rock/metal crossover, while with “Hyklere” being entirely sung in Norweigian, things do get a bit more “difficult” in them breaking it to a wider audience (a fact that hasn’t stopped other bands from gaining Europe wide popularity.)

I find the entire style, cumbersome and rather plain, but I must admit their production and performances (relevant to the rather simple style) are both top notch. Also their vocals are significantly better than the usually hoarse and mediocre vocals of most similar neo-grunge/rock crossoverists...
