Dumper, are a band coming from our native Italy and get their name from a bit of a funny place. Well, a place that would make Sir-Mix-A-Lot proud! The Trunk that’s full of Junk! The Booty! The Back! The Butt! It’s Colloquial slang for a lady that’s specially blessed with a derriere that just cannot be ignored. All shenanigans aside, “The Gunshot Theory”, being their sophomore effort, they just seem to be going for a metalized hard rock that owes a lot to bands like Iron Maiden, mainly due to singer Alessandro Marras’s vocals that do resemble Bruce Dickinson’s a bit even though he seems to exaggerate it.

For the most part, the album is quite tedious. There is a stand out track called “Way Home” which is quite anthemic and offers quite a bit of a melodic side as well. Another good tune would be “The Rotten Will” that also deviates from the norm of the rest of the tracks on offer here. Don’t get me wrong, “The Gunshot Theory” is not a majorly flawed metal album and it shows promise but at the same time it not something that will set the world on fire either, so until Dumper, tour with Sir-mixy and make a video of it… we remain!
