Devil City Angels is a brand new band from LA, which started in 2014, after a jam session between Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns) on guitars and Rikki Rockett (Poison) on drums. Along came the band’s first bassist Eric Brittingham (Cinderella). Finding a singer was an easy task as Rikki contacted Brandon Gibbs (Cheap Thrill), with whom he had worked almost a decade ago. After a while, Eric left the band and he was replaced by Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy, Whitesnake).
Devil City Angels blend the “old” with the “new”… meaning that the album has its 80s (hard) rock & roll elements but they have been delivered in a fresh way. Surely, those who fancy each member’s band and the 80s rock music in general will revel in “Devil City Angels”. This album may bring back memories from the time the LA rock scene was fruitful & colossal. The album’s production is also fresh & rockin’. It does have its 80s references but it doesn’t lose its freshness at any point.
Brandon is a great vocalist who fits DCA like a glove! His vocals are making the final outcome even more striking. Devil City Angels bring the past into the future and vice versa. Their hooks, their performances and the whole rockin’ attitude has that something that only the 80s rock bands used to have and it’s vastly missing from the majority of today’s acts. If you have lived during the 80s then Devil City Angels will bring sweet little memories on your mind… then again if you weren’t one of the lucky 80s guys, then DCA will give you a taste of how things used to be back in the day but with a fresh & contemporary twist… Go for it!
