Desolated
The End
BDHW Records
2016
Desolated is a UK hardcore band, formed in 2007. The band has released several EPs and singles throughout these 9 years (it has also participated in a few compilations) and “The End” their second full-length album (if I’m not mistaken) after 2012’s “Verse of Judas”.
Lyrically, the new album delivers a distinct message as it is offering an insight into the reality of living with a broken mind. Musically, the guys follow the typical hardcore music path (there’s no other way after all)… so we have aggressiveness, power & heaviness. The guys are not into fast-paced tracks; their tracks are in mid-tempo mostly. The vocals are typical hardcore vocals and the production is extra heavy & dynamic.
Even though “The End” is supposed to be a full-length release, it only lasts around 25 minutes. I guess that’s too much for a hardcore band… so be it! To cut it short, “The End” is a fair album which addresses the hardcore fans and only them…
