Collateral - Collateral

I’ve been watching this UK based band for the past 2 years (or so) and I had the chance to listen to their first singles, watch their videos and listen to their debut 4-track EP, as well.
Collateral consists of Angelo Tristan on lead vocals & guitar, Todd Winger on lead guitar, Jack Bentley-Smith on bass and Ben Atkinson on drums. All of them are amazing musicians and they have such energy, especially on stage, that will amaze you for sure. Grande Rock covered a couple of the band’s live shows in 2019 (for instance click here) and I had the chance to see a live stream concert of the band (before it became a trend due to covid-19) and I was truly stunned by their liveliness on stage. When this lockdown thing is over, do not miss the chance to see them live if they play anywhere near you.
Anyhow, the band was ready to release their full-length debut independently on September 2019 (if I remember right), but their pushed it back to February 2020. The debut was released via Roulette Media Records. All those who follow the band may be familiar with a few songs like “Midnight Queen”, “Lullaby”, “Mr Big Shoot” and “Merry Go Round”. Add the new melodic rockers like “Promiseland”, “In It for Love” and “Won’t Stop Me Dreaming” to the list and you have an exciting blending of AOR, melodic rock, modern rock, pop/rock, rock & roll and hard rock music. Naturally, as every great album, “Collateral” features the wonderful heartfelt ballad, “Get Back to You” that you’re gonna love from the very first listen. Angelo’s voice is so warm and emotional on this song… and that solo really nails it! The last track, “About This Boy” is a fine lil country rocker, which adds a bit of variety to the final outcome.

Collateral is a budding melodic rock band that has what it takes to go big; if the gods of rock & roll are fair to them, they will succeed, no matter what. Till then support the band, get their debut and hope to see them live on stage soon. All the fans should support all the gifted newcomers, especially on their first steps, so as to go further…
