Canadian noise rock trio, War Baby, has announced its sophomore album, “Death Sweats”, to be released on October 30th, 2015 via Bummer Records. A teaser video for the album can be streamed below.
War Baby commented: “"Death Sweats" is the audio equivalent of a chemical imbalance in the brain. This album to us is equal parts fear of the dark and disgust for the morning light... the very thought of being fully aware is terrifying... survival can mean many things; DEATH SWEATS is one of them. Believing in yourself when no else does will make you sweat. Believing in everyone else and not yourself will give you DEATH SWEATS”.
“Death Sweats” was recorded at the Noise Floor Recording Studio with producer Jordan Koop. Mastering was handled by Bob Weston.
Physical copies of the album will come with the “Death Sweats” board game. More details will be revealed shortly.

War Baby was born in 2008 in the grimier passes of Vancouver. It was Vancouver, the city that birthed DOA and was home to other Canadian punk veterans like NoMeansNo and SNFU, which, in its gloominess and frustration, fostered in the future band-members the idea of revisiting the loud and aggressive music which had been so seminal in the city in the past.
2013 proved to be a hallmark year for the band, with War Baby traveling and playing in China, including a date at Qing Dao's Intercity Music Festival, as well as a tour throughout Western Canada with Invasives. Its debut album "Jesus Horse" released the same year and was selected for many end-of-year lists (including Huffington Post's top ten Indie albums of 2013). War Baby became the 30th anniversary winners of Vancouver's prestigious Shindig! contest (put on by CiTR, the home of Nardwuar).
2014 was no less eventful, and War Baby crushed audiences at spring festivals such as Sled Island and Canadian Music Week as well as further tours with Invasives. Throughout its history, War Baby have been fortunate to share the stage with local Vancouver legends like White Lung, Mystery Machine, and SNFU and out of town greats such as Big Business, The Blind Shake, King Tuff, Helms Alee, and The Men, to name but a few.
