Model Spotlight of the Month

When and how did you decide to deal with modeling?

S: I came into it a little accidentally to be honest. Growing up I was very involved in dance and theatre. My mom was also an excellent seamstress and taught me how to sew. So, I would make clothes and props for personal use as well as dance and theatre. I also drew and painted all through school, and in high school I was in fine art classes as well as a darkroom film class. I was a weirdo and wore strange things that I made or found at thrift stores to school, and one day my boyfriend’s friend met up with me while we were out and asked me if I would model for her photography class at the local community college. So I ended up with cyber dreads and heels and a corset in a tree. That was my first shoot. After that I posted to DeviantArt and pretty soon I had more and more friends asking me to model for them for their projects. Somehow I ended up making a Model Mayhem and the rest is history. It’s been twelve years so there have been times I’ve taken breaks especially to move or go to university, but in the end I do love it and always come back to it.

What defines a sexy woman according to you?

S: I think that being sexy is all about feeling sexy, which derives from trusting in yourself and that the sum of your parts creates a whole person that you enjoy being. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to absolutely love yourself every second of every day, but having a good relationship with yourself means that you can accept and appreciate yourself even if you’re having a bad feelings day. That’s what makes confidence for me, being able to trust that you matter and are worthwhile even if you’re not feeling that’s true at a 100%.

What’s the sexiest part of you?

S: I’d say that my creativity and ability to problem solve in order to help myself, make art, or help my friends through challenges is what makes me attractive. Physical beauty is fine, but it’s how you use it that counts.

What’s the weirdest thing that turns you on?

S: Lisps...

Which was the strangest pick-up line a guy has used to approach you?

S: “Hey I like stuff, do you like stuff”? We were at an art gallery in Baltimore and had been making eyes across the room for a few hours. It worked...

What’s the weirdest photo shooting you’ve ever done so far?

S: This is a really hard question to answer; I mean a lot of shoots have some level of the bizarre. I’ve been naked on a tree branch over a lake in the snow, covered in tiny octopus and worn a pit-beef sandwich (It’s a B-More thing) on my head. I suppose the level of “weirdness” is in the eye of the beholder, and as an absurdist I think that enough of life is already strange and have a tendency to appreciate the weird and utilize it to make more interesting pieces.

What is the best sex advice you’ve ever given or gotten?

S: Communication. Being able to talk to each other (or however many is in your party) is what is going to cut down on being awkward and dissatisfied. If you can’t communicate then you probably shouldn’t be getting busy.

Who’s the sexiest Rock Star of all time?

S: David Bowie. No questions asked. But to be fair that’s because I love his music and the message that he proliferated during interviews while he was still on Earth. As a sapiosexual and demisexual it’s hard for me to sexualize individuals by what they look like, or even their ideas if I don’t know them personally.

What’s the best city/country you’ve ever been to and why?

S: I haven’t been able to travel as much as I’ve wanted to, that is to say that I have only been to England and Ontario as far as leaving the country and still haven’t been to every state in the U.S. I love to travel; meeting new people and seeing what their lives are like on a daily basis is one of my favorite parts of being a traveling model. So far I’ve really loved Toronto, Ontario, Durham, North Carolina, San Francisco, California and Austin, Texas. But there are many places I’ve been to that are just out in the woods or off the shore and they are beautiful.

What kind of music do you like and which is your beloved band/artist?

S: I listen to all sorts of music, I know that “everyone says that”, but short of stadium country I love everything from classical and jazz to death metal with a good dose of hip hop. I would mainly categorize what I listen to the most in the geology realm, that is to say, rocks and metals. That being said, my favorite band is the Smashing Pumpkins, insert jokes here, because their lyrics have always really spoken to me.

What language is the sexiest?

S: I love the study of Linguistics, so I think a lot of languages are sexy, but definitely French and Gaelic are at the top of my list for how they sound.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

S: Expressive. charming and artistic…
