Ruby Fortune is the rock & roll pin-up. Mixing traditional glamour with tattoos, booze, latex and a punk rock attitude! Music has always been a huge part of Ruby’s life from the moment her Dad first played her his record collection including The Damned, The Clash, The Ramones and Sid Vicious. She joined has first punk band as a teenager determined to be like her heroes Debbie Harry and Brody Dalle. Needless to say they did not become the global superstars that she hoped but the love for being on stage and being a part of the scene took over. She went on to play over Europe in ska band 1-Stop Experience with Jennie Matthias from The Bellestars and helped form her own dixie fried country punk band The Drowning Sorrows who sadly split 2 years ago. It was the love for rockabilly, psychobilly, punk and good old fashioned rock & roll the led her to run her club night at the legendary 12 Bar in Soho, Bad Luck Saloon where she showcased some of her favourite bands such as The Zipheads, Graveyard Johnnys, Jack o’ Bones and Moonshine Stalkers.
This all went hand in hand with her progression as a model. Starting in 2006 when she was spotted performing at Manchester Tattoo Convention with her then burlesque troupe Lady Luck’s Burlesque Beauties. This saw her go on to feature in several international tattoo magazines and work with clothing companies. Starting off as a traditional pin-up inspired by bombshells such as Marilyn Monroe, Jane Mansfield and Bettie Page, Ruby began to develop her own style influenced by her love for music and horror movies. Her stage performances now involve everything from feathers and glitter to coffins, straightjackets and severed heads!
