Gene Simmons is an Entertainment Genius

Sure, Kiss made a whole lot of groundbreaking maneuvers in the music business, but don’t discount the drive and creativity involved due to the money behind it; Gene Simmons is a goddamned genius!

I took the camera down to the Honda Center in Orange County, CA a week ago with fellow journalist Chip Smith and we got a good look at what a complete package looks like. For less than $25, and by less than I mean $24… you get so much action you could sprain your neck trying to keep focused on what happens next! Let me give you a quick review of what happened in the first hour.

Four guys dressed like Nikki Sixx, Slash, the drummer of Devo and Spiccoli performing under the name Fast Times! They were great!

Nita Strauss and her last public appearance before joining Alice Cooper's band along with Courtney Cox of the Iron Maidens totally destroying the National Anthem with their jugs tossing about. (They were not invited back for the next game by the way!)

Nearly naked cheerleaders everywhere! In swinging bondage cages, spread out like blankets across the padded indoor field and dancing in the aisles like boxes of buttered popcorn. Yummy!

Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer just hanging out and nobody was attacking them.

Former football great Warren Moon tossing spirals across the arena and into the audience.

Highflying BMX bikes jumping cars to the sound of gunshot blasts from the ceiling.

Fieldy from Korn and Sen Dog from Cyrpess Hill hanging out and walking around.

Free Kiss Bobbleheads for everyone in the arena! They’re worth more than the ticket price!

Little running backs going head to head with huge front linemen!

Two huge gorillas almost going all out and battling bare handed on the field.

A player getting his head knocked off as his helmet bounced away from him. He got back up and continued to play!

The infamous Ricky Gordon making an end zone appearance for fans. Here’s a video:

And of course, how could I forget – I was thrown off the field for being illegally inside the playing area for the first quarter of the game when a player completely mowed me into the side rail and broke one of my camera lenses. Yes folks, I go all out for Grande Rock! (see the picture of the guy in white on top of my camera – that’s the dude who clocked me at full throttle speed!)

But this is just a piece of the experience, because you truly have to be there to grasp the complexity of it – yet it runs so smoothly! In the stands, waitresses and waiters attend to your every need… food, drinks… more drinks! You don’t pay until the end of the night! The burgers are HUGE! The drinks are big and the fries are FRESH!

On each corner of the field, being raised up and down during play, pole dancers in cages wearing next to nothing and they never stop dancing. That must be because there is almost consistently music somewhere when the ball is not in play. Every seat is a great view! And clean… the arena is CLEAN!

So get a grasp on what I’m telling you here. Gene Simmons gets involved in an Arena Football League and does more than just stamp his name on it; he literally puts his money behind it too! The uniforms are incredible, colorful and terrifying all at the same time. The show is as big on an arena field as KISS is when they play Wembley Stadium! So why am I sharing this?

Well, reason number one – Thanos gave me access to the site so I’m taking advantage of that! Reason two – it has officially been a line crossed – music and sports have become one in a level of entertainment that has never been achieved until now, and Gene Simmons is the reason why.
