Building on the success of last year's sell-out edition, Supersonic Festival organisers, Capsule continue their voyage of discovery - now twenty years strong - celebrating heaviness in a variety of forms, and adapting in order to stay relevant. Their evolution continues with an exciting move to a new home in the outer edges of Digbeth, Birmingham.
 

Being an instrumental psychedelic folk rock band founded in Ankara in 1999, Hayvanlar Alemi has developed a very style of its own. Inspired by the innovative musical heritage of Turkey but also informed by the traditional and popular styles of the globe, blending together scales and rhythms of Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America with surf, dub, stoner rock and free improvisation.

Soaring ethereal rhythms and melodies, and the doomed tenderness of where hope and hopelessness dance among the faded soon-to-be ruins of ill-maintained state highways tearing through rural and post-industrial landscapes. Boduf Songs’ seventh album and first on Advance Base’s Orindal Records marks the project’s most detailed album yet, somehow voyaging into deeper recesses than ever before. “Abyss Versions” will see the light of day on October 4th, 2019.

Today, the Ohio-via-Southampton artist Mat Sweet, the solitary figure behind Boduf Songs, shares the first track from the record, the menacing “Gimme Vortex”. 

April 26th will see dark rock veterans, artist collective Sabbath Assembly, release their seventh studio album, the hotly anticipated “A Letter of Red”. The band’s follow-up to the 2017’s “Rites of Passage” was recorded at Figure 8 Studio in Brooklyn with producer Randall Dunn (Black Mountain, SunnO))), Earth). The new album marks a return to the shortened song form and tight production of their debut, while demonstrating ten years of songwriting prowess and lyrical advancement.

Sabbath Assembly is a dark rock band based in Texas and NYC. A true artist collective, Sabbath Assembly features vocalist Jamie Myers (ex-Hammers Of Misfortune, Wolves In The Throne Room), guitarist Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia), guitarist Ron Verod (Kayo Dot, Myrkur), bassist Johnny DeBlase, and drummer / founding member David Nuss.

In celebration of their 50th anniversary, UK music legends Strawbs, plus a host of guest performers, former Strawbs, and Strawbs-related artists, will be performing at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ on April 26-28, 2019!
