Chad Szeliga, drummer of Black Star Riders, who are currently on tour in South America with Alice In Chains and Judas Priest has launched a new band, Walking With Lions.
Szeliga, who has 4 platinum certifications previously with Breaking Benjamin and Black Label Society, met guitarist Kevin Hicklin (ex-3 By Design) during a recording session for the Atomflower project produced by Ronnie King (Offspring, Pepper).
The pairing of Szeliga and Hicklin set the foundation to bring the group to life. With producer Ulrich Wild (Deftones, Static-X) at the helm and Gene Grimaldi (Johnny Cash, Slipknot) the band has honed in on a sound of their own.
As stated by Szeliga: “We, as a band, are very excited to share our music with the rock world”.
Walking With Lions (WWL) has inked a deal with Rockford, IL/Brooklyn, NY based non-profit label Independent Ear (SRG/ILS, Caroline, UMG, eOne) and is slated for the release of their first single “Ghosts” on January 18th, 2019.
“Huge thanks to Sean Lenhoff (Core 10, Atomflower) for bringing this new, yet-already superstar band to my attention!! Even before hearing the rough demo cut of "Ghosts" I knew we were destined to work with these guys… then I heard the song and it only further solidified that notion. WWL is set to take the world by storm & we can’t wait”, says Phillip Ryan Block, Founder & GM.
Line-up:
Casey Honig - Vocals
Franks Mullis- Bass (ex-3 By Design)
Casey Sproatt - Guitar (ex-The Millenium)
Kevin Hicklin - Guitar (ex-3 By Design)
Chad Szeliga - Drums (Black Star Riders)
