Sir George Henry Martin, “the Fifth Beatle”, dies at the age of 90

Producer, composer, conductor, audio engineer and musician Sir George Henry Martin passed away on March 8th, 2016 at the age of 90. His death was announced by Ringo Starr on his Twitter account. The cause of death has not been announced.

George Martin was sometimes referred to as “the Fifth Beatle”.

Ringo Starr tweeted:
“God bless George Martin peace and love to Judy and his family love Ringo and Barbara George will be missed”.

Ringo also tweeted:
“Thank you for all your love and kindness George peace and love”.

LiveFinland - Music and tourism industries join forces to promote Finnish music

George Lynch & Mark Mclaughlin are working on Documentary Film

Rock legend George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) and Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker Mark Mclaughlin are currently working together on "Shadowtrain: Under a Crooked Sky", a stirring documentary that explores a hybrid way of life merging modern society with the ancient practices of people who have lived in harmony with the land for thousands of years; native American Indians.
 

The Fine Line Gets ‘Effect’ed - Echo Effect brings down the House


Although knowing the name, I’d never heard 7th Ascent, I was able to catch the very last of their set. The lead singer rocked a wicked corset and flaming hair, but the rest of the group was unmemorable. Despite compelling riffs and impressive lyrical ability, the group’s stage presence lacked luster, and (as one of my pet-peeves) their transitions were nothing more than blatant stops and crowd addresses. The group finished without a big bang, and exited the stage. Impressive musically, but not a show I’d seek (might as well listen to the record).
