Daughters, the Rhode Island-based noisemakers who are currently wrapping up a sold-out tour of select cities following the release of their new album, “You Won’t Get What You Want”, have announced a full North American trek for early 2019.
“Thank you to everyone who has made this return not only successful but thoroughly enjoyable”, said singer Alexis Marshall. “We are very excited to continue on, revisit some familiar places and return to others after a long hiatus. Love”.
The tour announcement comes on the heels of the release of the band’s fourth album and first new offering in eight years, “You Won’t Get What You Want”. The 11-song collection has quickly become one of 2018’s most well-received albums, with fans and critics worldwide marveling at Daughters’ bold return. In addition to praise from Stateside outlets like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Revolver, Brooklyn Vegan and others, Canada’s Exclaim Magazine said the album is “By far their most dynamic offering, Daughters have pulled off one of the great comeback albums and further cemented themselves as a band with such singular creativity that they're nearly peerless”. Classic Rock (UK) echoed those thoughts, saying “Daughters have never sounded so strong and they’ve never got it so right”.

Daughters is vocalist Alexis Marshall, guitar player Nick Sadler, drummer Jon Syverson and bass player Sam Walker. Following the release of their 2010 self-titled album, the band took an indefinite hiatus, returning in 2013 for a pair of sold out hometown shows in Providence, and a subsequent smattering of live dates in the intervening years, including joining Dillinger Escape Plan for their final live outings in December of 2017. Daughters have been hailed for their visceral performances, both live and on record, with Pitchfork describing them as “manic” and “pummeling” and Punk News pointing to their “frantic energy” and “spastic urgency”.
