Huntsmen to release debut full-length album “American Scrap” on February 23rd 2018

Storytelling is the great, albeit fading, American pastime. It predated writing and in many instances, was told in song. In modern times, many musicians have approached their music from a storytelling point of view: Dylan, Springsteen and Waits to name a few

Chicago's Americana metal outfit, Huntsmen, are carrying the torch for heavy bands to be added to that list and have announced their signing to Prosthetic Records.

Antarktis signs with Agonia Records

Swedish emotion-driven, post-rock/metal newcomer act Antarktis has signed a record deal with Agonia Records.

The group features two full-time members of In Mourning, who instead of entertaining the fact of being labeled as a side project, decided to dedicate their time & venture off into a territory uncharted by their mother band. Said members are guitarists Björn Pettersson and Tobias Netzell (ex-October Tide), both co-founders. In Antarktis, they're accompanied by vocalist and bassist Daniel Jansson (Ikhon) together with drummer Jonas Martinsson (Me The Tiger, Necrosavant). The band is currently working on a debut album.

King Woman to release debut full-length album “Created in the Image of Suffering” on February 24th 2017

Over the course of the last seven years, Bay Area’s King Woman have crafted a sound thoroughly their own – a sound that harnesses the elastic textures and temporality of drone and metallic shoegaze alongside the transcendental, melancholic power of doom.

Their forthcoming full-length “Created in the Image of Suffering” (due out February 24th, 2017, via Relapse Records), picks where their debut EP (“Doubt”; 2014, Flenser) left off while expanding on their sonic palette with a profoundly crafted opus of dirgey, ethereal doom-rock.

Throes Of Dawn

Hi Henri…first of all, congrats on your new mesmerizing album “Our Voices Shall Remain”. I do think that this album is the best you have released to date!

H: Thank you! I’m glad to hear that you liked it. It’s hard for me to look back and think which album is the best, but I really like this album too. Usually I don’t listen to our albums after they are released, but I seem to return to this album very often. It’s an album we have always wanted to make.

Throes Of Dawn - Our Voices Shall Remain

Six years after “The Great Fleet of Echoes”, where the band made a turn to the more atmospheric side of metal music, they’re back with “Our Voices Shall Remain”, which will positively surprise even the most loyal fans of the band. These Finnish guys have finally found the style that fits them best… if I may say so. The new additions to the band’s line-up are Henri Andersson on keyboards and Juuso Backman (ex-Swath) on drums. Unfortunately, the bassist Harri Huhtala has recently left the band due to health reasons and Jani Heinola (rhythm guitarist) will take over the bass duties from now on.
