From the release of the first self-titled album in 2013, Rakta has lived quite a vertiginous rise. In a particularly rare way for a band from the do-it-yourself scene of São Paulo, the band has aroused immediate international attention.

Philadelphia-based Lotus Thrones, the solo project formed by former Wolvhammer and Across Tundras drummer Heath Rave during the 2020 quarantine, has completed its first full-length release. “Lovers in Wartime” will see late July release through Disorder Recordings, who this week reveals the cover art, track listing, and a brief teaser for the album.

As a founding member and co-creative mind behind proto-industrial post-punk icons Killing Joke, Big Paul Ferguson has already earned his place among the most influential and highly regarded musicians of his era. Ferguson’s signature tribal drum style not only set Killing Joke apart from the scores of British bands coming up in the 80s, adding both depth and weight to the band’s piercing, discordant sound, but it also became a reference point for rock percussionists that followed in the band’s wake.

Miami-based shredders, DeGreaser, announced their new full-length album “Astrology 101” will be released on April 23rd, 2021, via Starburns Industries Press.

Brighton-based singer-songwriter Nick Hudson has announced that he will release his new “Font of Human Fractures” album this spring. Ahead of that, he presents a teaser for the 10-track offering, and a live rendition (recorded in Sophia, Bulgaria) of “There is No Such Thing as You”, which also appears on the LP.

Post-punk outfit The Wake has announced they will release a new long-play, entitled “Perfumes and Fripperies”. A fixture in the early - to mid-90s goth rock scene, The Wake are re-emerging with a new offering, almost 25 years since their last full-length album.
