New progressive trio Exploring Birdsong have released a video for their single “The Baptism”, marking one year as a band and since the first release of the track, their debut single.

Animated by Emmett Elvin of psychedelic rock band Knifeworld, the stunning new video can be seen below.

Exploring Birdsong are a unique proposition: Matt Harrison on drums, Jonny Knight on bass/second keys, and completed by Lynsey Ward on piano and vocals. Pop sensibilities and soulfully gorgeous singing meet progressive compositions, reminiscent of Iamthemorning, Steven Wilson, Kate Bush and more.

Gerry Paul Nestler releases new lyric video for “Rain on the Window”

Los Angeles, CA based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Paul Nestler (Philm, Civil Defiance) has released a lyric video for the song “Rain on the Window” off his brand new solo album, “Mama’s Child”, out now on The Wild Red Mother Records.

Gerry Paul Nestler to release debut solo album “Mama’s Child” on September 12th 2018

Los Angeles, CA based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Paul Nestler has announced the release of his debut solo album, “Mama’s Child”.

The album is scheduled for a September 12th, 2018, release and will be celebrated with a Nestler live appearance at The Redwood Bar in Downtown L.A. that same day.

A lyric video for the song “Koko My Love”, featuring vintage photographs taken around Los Angeles during the early 1950s by Nestler’s artist father, Frank Nestler, can be viewed below.

That Joe Payne to release debut solo single “I Need a Change” on March 2nd 2018

That Joe Payne has set to release his debut solo single “I Need a Change” on March 2nd, 2018.

“I Need a Change” is the first of many compositions to feature on a forthcoming album, influenced entirely by the artist’s journey through depression and anxiety following a mental breakdown in 2016.

The B Side track, “Moonlit Love”, is exclusive to this single.

This record was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Max Read at The Lodge Recording Studios, Northampton. Some vocals were recorded at Joe’s home studio, also in Northampton.

Mabel Greer’s Toyshop to release new studio album “The Secret” on December 8th 2017

Prog rock pioneers, Mabel Greer’s Toyshop (for without Mabel Greer, there would be no YES), are to release a new album “The Secret” on December 8th, 2017.

On this album, Peter Banks (former YES & Flash guitarist) can be heard playing a guitar duo with Mabel Greer’s founder, guitarist and vocalist, Clive Bayley for the first time in 50 years. Clive has written a new song around guitar parts recorded by Peter Banks, who passed away in 2013. This song is a tribute to Banks and Chris Squire who both joined the band in September 1967.

Anathema frontman did go solo and acoustic a while ago… and while for a variety of reasons Anathema from their early 90s death metal humble beginnings right around the end of the millennium sounded genuine, artistic and driven, they became a watered down boring shadow of their former-selves, slaves to form rather than function and “successful” by appealing to a larger more mainstream audience that until that point snubbed them, by softening and homogenizing their sound even further leading it into an even valley of nauseating radio-friendly brit rock that for some reason some labeled as “prog”, because of the “atmosphere”.
