Pendragon

Hi Nick. Congrats on “Love Over Fear”. It’s the “Album of the Month” on Grande Rock!

N: Thank you!

It’s been almost 6 years since “Men Who Climb Mountains”. What happened in the meantime and why did it take you so long to come up with a new studio album?

Pendragon - Love Over Fear

In 2018 Pendragon had their 40th year anniversary. Yeah, I know that the number 40 might seem too big but this band has been around since 1978 and has been true to their prog rock values all these years. Then again it’s been almost 6 years since their last studio album “Men Who Climb Mountains”, so the prog fans might have been wondering what’s been going on.

External releases official video for new single “Distant”

The Finnish progressive metal collective External have released a new song, “Distant”. It’s the follow-up to their previous single “Anhedonia”, released in June. The cover art was done by Lumi Hartikainen.

In the mixing process, once again, External worked with Asger Mygind from the Danish band VOLA. The song is accompanied by an animated music video by Tuomas Kortelainen.

This Winter Machine

Hi Peter, welcome to Grande Rock. First of all, do give us a brief bio of the band.

P: TWM formed around 9 months ago now after singer Al, put out an advert for like-minded musicians to form a writing collective. The rest as they say is history.

How did you come up with the name This Winter Machine initially?

P: The name came from Al. As I recall, he mentioned something about a daydream about a mechanical horse ploughing a 19th century field.

The single is the first Echo Us work to see release after the three-album “Trilogy Memoriam” concluded in 2014. As the project's founder, Ethan Matthews is also celebrating his 15th year of creating and releasing music as Echo Us.
