Armonite signs to Cleopatra Records and announces new studio album “And the Stars Above”

Armonite, the instrumental rock collective led by composer Paolo Fosso and violinist Jacopo Bigi, signed with LA-based indie label Cleopatra Records for the release of their new album, “And the Stars Above”.

Armonite's instrumental music is perfectly in line with the spirit of the label, especially now that Cleopatra expanded in the movie industry.

Oh Finland, Finland… You’ve given us such exciting bands, but in 2017, first you don’t choose D’sanz & Gunther to represent you in Eurovision with a sure winner and now you give us the might Dick!
 
Specifically a second serving of Dick, the sophomore album of Mr. Jaakko Soimakallio, Dick himself… The press blurb characterizes the material Rush and Genesis inspired and while I have some trouble justifying that, there are some more proggy moments here and there, but mostly it’s melodic, laidback pop/rock, with different flavors and edgy vocals that might challenge your perceptions about “correct” vocalization, but work just beautifully against the musical canvas the band weaves.

Incognito to release new album “In Search of Better Days” on June 24th 2016

You would think that a 37-year-old band would rest on its laurels... right? No, not Incognito! The band is as creative and full of fire as it was at its conception in 1979. A rare feat in these days and times.

Their 17th studio album, “In Search of Better Days”, will have Incognito fans grinning ear to ear and will be released on June 24th, 2016 on earMusic.

Kenny G announes June UK Tour 2016

Kenny G, one of the most successful saxophonists in the world today, will tour the UK in June 2016. The UK tour will see Kenny playing dates at the Sage Gateshead (Sunday June 26th), Manchester Bridgewater Hall (Monday June 27th), Birmingham Symphony Hall (Tuesday June 28th) and London’s Royal Albert Hall (Thursday June 30th).

Tickets will go on sale from Friday December 11th via www.ticketline.co.uk and the 24 hour box office 0844 888 9991. Tickets can also be ordered directly from the venues.

Moraz Alban Project

Hi Greg, I’m glad we have you on Grande Rock. Do tell us how did the idea for the Moraz Alban Project occur initially?
 
G: Thanks, The original idea was a project that was basically for me to play drums on with the material written by Patrick. The project kept evolving and after some time became a collaboration of Patrick and myself. I thought it would be best to have his name first because he’s a living legend and obviously a great composer and musician. Patrick came up with the title MAP, Moraz Alban Project and I immediately loved the name.

Patrick Moraz (keys) and Greg Alban (drums) have been friends for lots of years, since the last one participated on Moraz solo album “Timecode” in 1984. I bet they have on their mind to cooperate in the future too, but you never know when the time is right. So now it was the apt time to release the first album of their music project, which simply is named after their last names.
 

Susan Clynes - Life Is...

Susan Clynes is a singer/pianist from Belgium which has studied Drama, Jazz Piano, Jazz Composition and Composition. In 2012 she got a Master’s Degree in Composition with the well-known Frank Nuyts. She has also composed music for shortfilms, theater & advertisements. Now, it felt right to release her debut album.
