Soulseller Records will release “I.E.V.: Transmutated Nebula Remains”, the debut album from Spectral Haze on November 28th 2014.

Through these last few years, Spectral Haze has undulated and grown into channeling through a fifth vessel, namely Electric Starling (Theremin, VOID).

Aeonsgate to release “Pentalpha” on October 24th 2014

Aeonsgate is a doom project and it may become a cult.

The first record called “Pentalpha” is a one hour long song that tells a sad, romantic and very heavy-doomy story of someone's first minutes of death. It was recorded at Inception Studios in different parts of the world (L.A., Stockholm, Barcelona...) and produced, mixed and mastered by Billy Anderson at SharkBite Studios (Oakland, Ca). The release is set for October 24th, 2014 through Germany's The Church Within Records.

Ocean Chief - Universums Härd

Ocean Chief are a Swedish band with a unique sound which combines sludge/doom metal with space rock and psychedelia. I’m not going to lie and pretend I already knew who they are in order to seem cool. Apparently, they’ve been around since 2001 and kept themselves busy all these years. A quick look at their site revealed they have six releases (including two split CDs) to their name. I’m here to talk about their new album though, so let’s get to it. It’s called “Universums Härd” and it’s the most primal doom/sludge metal thing I’ve heard in a long time.

Slough Feg parts ways with drummer Harry Cantwell

Heavy metal stalwarts Slough Feg have announced that longtime drummer Harry Cantwell will be leaving the band after their July 28 show at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Cantwell has performed with the band for the past seven years, and on their last three studio albums: “Ape Uprising!”, “The Animal Spirits”, and “Digital Resistence”. The band plans to begin auditioning new drummers as soon as possible. Interested drummers can reach out via e-mail or via facebook.

Zaum - Oracles

Zaum is a Canadian music project between Kyle Alexander McDonald (Shevil’s front-man) on guitars, sitar, synth & vocals and Christopher Lewis (Iron Giant’s front-man) on drums. The duo does not stray from their beloved doom metal music; this time they are moving on more drone, sludge & slow doom metal paths.

Bloody Hammers - Under Satan’s Sun

I remember this band’s debut a couple of years ago… It did feature some nice tunes and it showed that this band has some potential. I was wondering if they could present anything better – as every band ought to – on their sophomore release but I was terribly dissatisfied with what I heard back then.

Now the band is back with its third, and more crucial work – as I’d like to say, and under a new (bigger) label this time. The last thing made me wonder how the A&R department of the ‘major’ labels works these days… hehe it’s really comical!
