80s

Asgard - Outworld

Picking up from where they left off with their debut album, “The Seal of Madness”, Asgard have made a huge step of progress in every part. Assuredly lots of bands lately, who are fond of the 80s metal era, have entered the game but when others are trying to “copy-paste” & imitate, these Italians have decided to take the hard way and make their own personal music without trying to be another clone in the scene.

Battle Ram - Long Live the Ram

There are two ways to approach releases like this one. You’re either a metalhead and you are into this “trip” or you’re not and you can’t get what’s all about so you end up making fun of something that you cannot understand. Italy & Greece have retained a strong underground “epic heavy metal” scene and they keep supporting it no matter if there are 10, 100 or 1000 people around. That’s its beauty in spite of everything… to support what you fancy without giving a tinker’s cuss about other opinions.

Blood Ceremony - The Eldritch Dark on May 28th 2013

In late 2012/early 2013, Blood Ceremony enclosed themselves within a dank, tomb-like chamber to begin preparations for their third album. After a mind-numbing spell in the analogue womb of Toronto’s ProGold Studios, the band is now ready to unveil their newest, and most accomplished, musical offering: “The Eldritch Dark”. The debut single, “Goodbye Gemini”, can be heard now below.

John Gält - Served Hot

That was something that I didn’t expect. I might be a bit biased but I would never think that there was a chance to see a Ukrainian band playing so fine in a (fixed?) US/EU game. But let’s take things form the start, right?

De La Cruz - Street Level

De La Cruz is a newcomer from down under and this is their first full-length work after they signed in Frontiers records. The young members of the band are fond of the 80s hair metal, hard rock, sleaze metal days when bands like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Danger Danger, Steelheart, Ratt, Firehouse, Warrant and so on ruled the airwaves. Ohh, what a time!! Unfortunately, it ain’t coming back no matter how badly some guys like me want it to happen.

Howard Jones - Two exclusive UK concerts

30 years ago Howard Jones released his first single 'New Song' which urged listeners to challenge their preconceived ideas and throw off their mental chains. To celebrate this anniversary Howard is planning two special UK concerts in November 2013.

Fans can order tickets on Wednesday 20 March via a special 48-hour pre-sale by signing up to Howard Jones mailing list to obtain a pre-sale code HERE.

Enforcer - Death by Fire

I’ve said several things about that 80s revival movement that we’re facing during the last few years, but I’ll say one thing that’s important about the whole thing. We all love the 80s heavy metal… but seeing young bands copying the looks and the music of that era is not appealing at all. Of course, there are a number of bands which have something to say, like Enforcer, but their whole attitude and music approach do not flatter them at all.

Crashdiet - US Tour & New Video

Hard rock lovers worldwide can witness the worldwide premiere of the video for Swedish sleaze rockers Crashdiet’s brand new track, “California”. The song is taken from their latest album, "THE SAVAGE PLAYGROUND", which was just released worldwide via Frontiers Records and debuted at #2 on the Swedish album charts. Next month, Crashdiet are set to take their fiery live show to the masses in North America with a headlining tour kicking off on March 15th at Hooligans in Albuquerque, NM.
