Various Artists - Jetboys of Babylon: A Tribute to the New York Dolls

Crap! I seriously don’t understand the reasons why some unknown bands gather to “pay tribute” to some great bands. What is the point to get some average executions on some historical glorious songs, from bands we don’t know and we possibly will never get to know in the future. According to my opinion, a good tribute album must be assembled by performances of top class bands giving their version of all time classic songs (take for example the 2 double tributes to Black Sabbath and Judas priest, where the top class of heavy metal and not only gathered to seriously pay tribute to the masters).
