Airrace to release new studio album “Untold Stories” on August 10th 2018

One of the UK’s pioneering AOR acts, Airrace were originally formed in 1982. Having recently re-signed to the Frontiers label, they have today released a new single and announced a forthcoming album and a tour to promote it.

The single, “Summer Rain”, is described by the band leader and guitarist Laurie Mansworth as: “a song for the summer. I wanted to write something upbeat with a positive feel, as there is far too much doom and gloom around at the moment. This song will hopefully take you to a sunny day and lift your spirit”.

The new album, entitled “Untold Stories”, will be released on August 10th, 2018.

Perfect Plan to release debut album “All Rise” on April 20th 2018

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of a great new AOR/Melodic Rock band from Örnsköldsvik, Sweden: Perfect Plan.

The band formed in late 2014 and has been busy writing songs and honing their craft ever since. Perfect Plan’s music came to the attention of Frontiers Music Srl in the spring of 2017 and the label was immediately excited by the musical mixture of classic Scandinavian AOR (think Work of Art, Treat, early Europe) with nods to legends like Giant, Foreigner and Journey.

Their debut album will include influences from both the modern and classic AOR/Melodic Rock of the 80’s.

Jono

Hi Nicka, Johan and Stephan – it’s good to talk with you again about your new album “Life”. It’s really one of the top symphonic prog rock albums of 2017.

Nicka: Thank you so much. Really appreciated!

Hence, what has changed since “Silence” and what are the new elements that you introduce with “Life”?

Jono - Life

Swedes Jono are a band built around the talents of one Johan Norrby, who initially wanted to do a solo project (hence their name – the first two letters of his name and surname), but eventually they turned into a full time band. The easiest way to describe them is Sparks meets Queen. They are idiosyncratic, like the former and eclectic and bold with their arrangements, but melodic like the latter while they don’t sound like a “copy” too. Great stuff!

Cats In Space

Hello Greg and congrats on a sophomore album, Scarecrow”, that managed if not to top your debut at least come shoulder to shoulder with it…

G: Hi there! Yes, we are all very pleased so far. The reviews have been amazing and we feel “Scarecrow” is a big leap forward.

What’s new in the world of the “cats”?

G: New? Nothing really, we are from the 1970s!

Cats In Space - Scarecrow

I was surprised, scratch that, amazed, when I heard the debut album by UK sextet Cats In Space, who feature in their ranks a number of seasoned musicians who had success in decades past but only came together a couple of years ago to form this new band. Taking only a year they came up with an equally amazing album as their debut, if not better. Their 70s classic rock, with big hooks and AOR sensibilities owes a lot to Kansas and Boston as it does to ELO and 10CC, but all their influences are accumulated perfectly and their identity is quite unique in its own right.
