Ra live in Madison, WI, 2021

Ra, which their longevity goes as far back as the 90’s, came out of the gates this year with announcing the “Intercorrupted” tour to back their release with the same name. And they brought a great mix of local and national talent to the Annex.
 
Unfortunately, I completely missed the opening band, Autumn Reverie, with time allowance for interviews that night. Regardless, from the crowd response as I walked around and asked how it started off, at least the night is lit up.

Black Map, the Bay Area trio Metal Hammer dubbed as a “progressive supergroup” and All Music described as “a muscular post-hardcore trio with an impressive pedigree”, return with their first album in over four years, setting a November 5th, 2021, release date for “Melodoria”, via Minus Head Records.

Smoking Martha to release new studio album “Universe” on December 3rd 2021

Rising diverse Brisbane alt-rock group Smoking Martha is set to release its new full-length studio album, “Universe”, this December via Xelon Entertainment.

The official music video for the album’s second powerful single, “Liquid Sunshine”, is out now following the release of lead track, the fun and fiery “Good Girls”.

How do you feel that Ovtlier is taking part in the US tour along with Gemini Syndrome and AKC?
 
Joey: I feel great. I feel very fortunate because all the tours are trying to get out all at once. I am glad to get back out on the road. And for Gemini to select us is incredibly awesome. They’ve been awesome, super friendly and down to earth.

Acclaimed British rock group Asking Alexandria just announced the October 1st, 2021, release of their upcoming full-length studio album “See What’s on the Inside”. The announcement comes fresh off the news of their new global deal with Better Noise Music earlier this year, when they were signed by label president Dan Waite out of the company’s London office.

Florence Black to release debut full-length album “Weight of the World” on September 17th 2021

Bowed by their fans exultant reaction to their latest single “Sun & Moon” last Friday, fast-rising Welsh rockers Florence Black have unveiled plans for their debut album.

Set for release on September 17th, 2021, and titled “Weight of the World”, the ten-track beast was laid down in Wales at Long Wave Recording Studio with producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Motorhead, Sylosis, Holding Absence).

Kicking off the night was Pushing Veronica, a punk rock band from California. Ever since they honored us into their family a couple of years ago, we couldn’t wait to see them get up on stage again. And tonight… our wishes were granted!! These boys opened the doors to a new generation of punk, which shows that, as it says on the hat that I wear proudly, “Punk Never Dies”…

The night begins with Let Fate Decide, who hails from just down the highway in Rockford, IL. They’re a younger band, but put out a really solid set with a mix of covers and originals. The band is well rehearsed and meshed together really with a style that leaned more towards the alternative metal side. The singer's vocals were really crisp and clean.
