German heavy metal icon Udo Dirkschneider will turn 70 years old on April 6th, 2022. Born in Wuppertal during the post-war period, when heavy metal hadn’t even been envisioned, he is the constant among the German metal scene and one of the decisive characters who helped shape the genre so significantly over the course of about five decades.

Hyperia to release new studio album “Silhouettes of Horror” on March 18th 2022

Canadian thrashers Hyperia, formerly of Calgary, AB, now residing in Vancouver, BC announce they will be self-releasing their new album “Silhouettes of Horror” this coming March 2022. The full-length follows their 2020’s “Insanitorium” unleashed via Sliptrick Records and their 2019 EP “Fish Creek Frenzy”.

Felskinn to release new studio album “Enter the Light” on February 25th 2022

Felskinn takes the next step with “Enter the Light”! After their well received 2018 output “Mind Over Matter” (the first with ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records) singer and founder Andy Portmann put together a new line-up in 2019 including Martin Rauber (Wolfpakk) and Tom Graber (ex-Crystal Ball) on guitars, Ronnie Wolf (Lunatica) on drums and his longtime Bandmate Beat Schaub on bass. Amorphis to release new 7-inch “On the Dark Waters” on January 28th 2022

Northern metal giants Amorphis recently released “The Moon”, a beautifully haunting first taste of their forthcoming album “Halo”, set for release on February 11th, 2022, via Atomic Fire Records. To shorten the wait until the arrival of their second single, “On the Dark Waters” (out on January 28th, 2022), the band has announced a limited 7" blue/white vinyl single of the same name, due out on the same day.
